A multi process artist. Fadi’s work reveals his own experience of the people, places and nature around him. He spends a lot of time with his subjects, capturing their different facets observing every feature, detail and tension both physical and psychological until he gets emotionally saturated to unleash his most energetic strokes in a spontaneous, playful and obsessive manner giving each subject its derived process. He considers finished when the image produced walks the thin line between tragedy and comedy; therefore ‘true’.

Self-taught. Lebanese, born in Beirut, 1960.

During his early youth (1974) Fadi played with photography and spent most of his time in the darkroom. Instead of being out taking photographs  he preferred creating his own images using light and chemicals. This hobby developed into a passion of making things out of any reaction or interaction by interweaving techniques of darkroom process with painting.

In the 90’s he learned advanced theory and contemporary practice of pigments and binders at Royal Talens labs in Aperldoorn. He shared his knowledge pertaining to the importance of technology in the creative process in academic institutions such as Beirut University College, Lebanese University, American University of Beirut, and Académie Libanaise Des Beaux-Art,

He participated in many collective art shows in Lebanon during the 90’s and exhibited in 1994 his first installation in Beirut; a 22 meter walk-on painting (Forum Art Fair)

In 1999 and thanks to his friend Roy Haddad he won insight into the Arab world living and working for 15 years in 8 Arab cities as a creative director of a multinational advertising agency. Fadi stopped exhibiting during this journey but continued to be involved in the art world.

On June 2014, Fadi returned to Beirut and since dedicates all his time to painting.
